Just “bumping” this back up to tell readers that I’m still open to taking recommendations.
If you want any manga series to be scanlated, just comment on this post with your series name.
Of course, including a MangaUpdates link as well as places where raws are available are a plus.
Below are some guidelines to increase the chance that your manga will be picked up:
1) Preference will be made for series with furigana as opposed to ones without it.
2) Series that have had a release within the last three months or so will likely be turned down.
3) Series with mixed and/or bad ratings/comments on its MangaUpdates page will likely be turned down.
4) Series that have anything to do with Village Idiot or Facepalm Scans will be turned down.
5) If there are no easy-to-fetch public raws available for a series, it will likely be turned down.
6) Mid- to high-tier (basically, potentially popular) series that are not taken will be highly considered.
7) No series that are either licensed or on hiatus. They will be turned down.
All in all, I’m generally trying to pick up projects that would overall increase the popularity of Kirei Cake.
Of course, easy series are preferred, since I can get more done in a shorter time span.
I picked up Improper Capture Method from the first run, so it’s possible you’ll get chosen next ;o.
That’s about it I think. Recommend away. – Sayori
———————————————————————————————-
Series from the previous two runs that are either considered or are need of a response:
Noragami – Considered
Demon Hunter Victorique– I’m personally not getting the vibe to do this.Daiaku Kojou – Currently has a lack of available raws, so no decision at this time.
Eve no Jikan – Considered
Gekka Bijin
Megalomania – Considered
Shinigami-sama ni Saigo no Onegai wo
EarTh

… and Bin – Sonshi Iden to put the end
Let us keep the first one a secret, hmm ;)?
(That means I picked it up.)
Campione!
and Dämons ?
Both of them look interesting, so I’ll get some advisers to take a look at them before giving you a reply.
Devil Survivor ?
No raws so can’t make a decision.
Hi I’d like to suggest Kyoukai no Rinne
It might have a little below average rating at mangaupdates, but that’s only the first 16 chapters has been translated. And above all it’s done by the one and only TAKAHASHI Rumiko. Right now there’s a group (I’m thankful to them) who has pick it up, but only from chapter 90. I don’t think they will go back to chapter 17, so see if you can do it.
It’s licensed…
Luck Stealer
http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=4555
About a young father (mid twenties) with the power to steal luck from people resulting in their deaths, and doing it to provide luck for his daughter born with no luck. Pretty damn good series but hasn’t shown any activity for a year and longer now T_T
Though on a side note I’d much rather just have more Bokura wa Minna Ikiteiru! release and commission a group to do the rest of Luck Stealer for me XD
Yeah, I gave WAAA! to denden to work on now; I’m too busy myself. He’ll supposedly have it done soon. SUPPOSEDLY.
Oh, and no to that series.
NaQaden ?
That’s more of a series for Vortex Scans than me, lol. They work on Kaibutsu Oujo already.
Hi I suggest these
Kuzumoto-san Chi no Yonkyoudai
Othello (TSUKAMOTO Youichi)
Youkai no Oisha-san
Shachou Eiyuuden Eaglet
Genez
Mushi-Uta
Kuzumoto-san Chi no Yonkyoudai: I thought this looked interesting at first, but then seeing that it was completed at three volumes kind of turned me off. Feels like it’ll end like some simple shounen.
Othello (TSUKAMOTO Youichi): This one also seems interesting, but being only two volumes, I have a feeling it’ll end poorly.
Youkai no Oisha-san: After a bit of consideration, it’ll be a no.
Shachou Eiyuuden Eaglet: This looks cool, since I like the Legend of Condor Heroes. But… In a Japanese context? That’s really interesting, lol. Considered.
Genez: This looks interesting from the cover, but, being a 2009 manga with only one volume out, I can only question whether it’s been axed or just left to rot… It’ll be a maybe.
Mushi-Uta: This is a no.
Well.. it would be nice see scanlation for Shinigami-sama ni Saigo no Onegai wo.
Apparently, the ending to the series was poorly executed, so I won’t bother picking it up. Sorry…
Really? I didn’t know that…too bad, I guess it was axed.
Yeah, I guess so. So I don’t want to bother with a series that might suck.
Hello again how about this one Akatsuki
Sorry, that one’s a no.
Sensei ni, Ageru.

Sorry, this one’s a no.
Or:
A Bias Girl:
http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=72792
really funny one ^^
It’s in Korean…
How about this one:
OZ (TOKIYA Seigo):
http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=33653
I don’t think the group dropped it yet.
I’ll suggest Shinigami-sama ni Saigo no Onegai wo (http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=48064). I think it shares the taste of the series translated here. It’s been around 270 days since a chapter was last released, winch left us in a humongous cliffhanger (yes, I have not read any RAWs) and it’ll be awesome somebody finally restarted the scanlation of the series.
Apparently, the ending to the series was poorly executed, so I won’t bother picking it up. Sorry..
Hi I suggest Tsubura na Wakusei
http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=63933
Hi there. Sorry, but I’ll have to turn it down.
There’s a lack of public raws to begin with, and the fact that it is only two volumes makes me question whether it’ll be rushed or not.
Well, if it counts, I add my vote to Shinigami-sama ni Saigo no Onegai o, it was very very nice!
Apparently, the ending to the series was poorly executed, so I won’t bother picking it up. Sorry.
Hello
I suggest Kaitai Shinsho 0
and Urasai
Kaitai Shinsho 0 – It seems like a nice manga series and all, but I’m just not getting the vibe to do it, sorry.
Urasai – Not really into fox-related stories, sorry.
ok. these are the series that have been droped and I wich somebody will pick it up.

Dr. Koto Shinryoujo:http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=19178
Sorry, it’s a no to all.
Hey,
I’d like to recommend the series Ibitsu (http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=52757)
By the mangaka that did Sundome. Only 3 chapters were ever scanlated (more than 1 year ago)
Raws for all the chapters can be found here: http://www.jcafe24.net/index.php/topic,17054.0.html (Note that MU links are all dead but someone re-upped all the raws on one of the later pages to mediafire) Although the raws are pretty bad quality (from what I understand of scanlation)
Someone has actually started posting just the translated text on the latest page of the site with the raws I linked above (done the first 20 chaps or so) Maybe they’d be willing to TL for you?
Thanks for considering it :)
Hey there, thanks for the recommendation.
Unfortunately, I’m not liking the idea behind Ibitsu.
I’m trying to stray away from sexual manga series, so it’ll be a no, even if it’s a good one with a strong plot.
Sorry about that.
What about…
Tomehane!
http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=14286
Hobo-1 got about half-way through volume 5 before he literally disappeared off the face of the planet. It’s his last “major” project (i.e. Hetakoi, Kono S wo Mi yo) that hasn’t been resumed by someone else.
Raws are available on at least three sites, based on a cursory google search of “tomehane raw”.
It has been adapted to a drama. It has strong ratings on MU, with mostly 8’s, 9’s and 10’s. It’s…
On 432 reading lists
On 218 wish lists
It’s a seinen slice of life type manga with romance elements, about performance calligraphy. Of course, it’s fairly different to stuff you’ve worked on in the past but it may… diversify your audience; introducing fans of Tomehane to your other series, and bringing your other fans to Tomehane.
And of course, you can read the work that’s already been done on it, to help decide whether you want to take it on or not.
I’m sorry, but I’ll have to turn this down.
Apart from the seinen demographic, I’m moreso concerned that, since I have little to no knowledge about calligraphy, I might end up doing more bad than good.
Don’t want to ruin a perfectly good series just because I don’t know much about what it’s about.
