Thank you for the chapter :)

  • Jaybee says:

Thanks for another great chapter. Not sure what to make of the ending though. Is it just me or is Merlin reacting as though Motoe is Chloe?

    • Nitori says:

I guess the reveal whizzed right by you :P.

(They’re probably one and the same person; le gasp)

      • Jaybee says:

Does the line through mean that you’ve retracted that statement? Because if they were the same, the start of “Confrontation with the past” would be more than a little weird.

        • Nitori says:

It’s my guesstimation. It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense since I’m fairly sure Chloe and Motoe are two different people, but now that they have the same body and outfit, it brings about the question as to whether they’re one and the same person. If so, a lot of retconning will be necessary to fill in the gaps. Regardless, it’s still a guess for now.

          • Jaybee says:

A guess it may be, but I don’t have a better explanation myself. If I had to say my guesstimation, it would either be that Chloe is disguising herself as Motoe (and I can’t think of why) or that Motoe is the new “Magician Chloe” (after all, Eiseigrad Sparuda seems pretty sure that the old one is dead)but I always thought that Kuroe would be the next “Magician Chloe”. I guess that I too will just have to wait and see.

            • Nitori says:

Well, Chloe is a grandmaster magician (her OP powers will be revealed quite soon), so it’s very much possible for her to change her physical appearance to that of another person’s in order to disguise themselves.

I mean, it would make sense for Motoe to be Chloe, since there were scenes of Chloe being intimate with Kuroe before. Plus, why else would Chloe be constantly watching over and helping Kuroe, anyway?

              • Jaybee says:

Make sense? Because they were being intimate? Motoe is his sister! I mean, I am all for close families, but the start of chapter 25 implies that they were a bit more than close.
Also, isn’t the entire reason for Kuroe’s feud with Adivuarat Kurai because he kidnapped Motoe. If Kuroe found that his sister was alive and well, then there goes his entire reason for revenge in the first place.
I will however agree that Chloe can probably change her appearance at will. After all, we already know that she can be invisible.
As for her reasons for looking after Kuroe, she did the same thing for Reiji and I doubt that they’re related. I suspect that she just has a soft spot for her students.

                • Nitori says:

Intimacy doesn’t necessarily mean banging each other :|. It could just be Motoe teasing Kuroe to show that she still cares.

I could spoil quite a bit, but I don’t want to until we’ve reached that point. I think Chloe/Motoe is Misaki’s mother, though.

                  • Jaybee says:

Yes, thank you foe not spoiling anything.
That would certainly be interesting. There is definitely a resemblance between Motoe and Misaki, although that could just be the art style. Personally, I feel that a lot of Takano Masayuki’s characters look the same.

                    • Nitori says:

On a side note, you do know that you could discuss all of this in real-time in our chat :P (and that’s preferable to commenting)

                    • Jaybee says:

Well yes, in theory I could. I admit that I have tried to use the chat on a couple of occasions, however I just end up with a screen that looks like a notebook page and I am never sure what to do next.

                    • Nitori says:

That’s generally how IRC chatrooms look like, in most IRC clients. People (who use aliases) chat and discuss random things.

As soon as you’re in there, you can type and press enter to talk, and generally people will respond (if they’re active).

Once you use it a good while, you’ll come to like it. It’s not hard to get used to.

  • Geese1 says:

Many thanks for the new chapter!
